01Do you provide free quotes?+
Yes. Send us your name, suburb, contact number and a short description of the work. For work that needs a site inspection, we will arrange a visit, assess the scope and provide a written quotation.
02What information should I send for a quote?+
Include the property location, the kind of work required, photographs where possible, approximate dimensions, access constraints and your desired timing. The clearer the brief, the more accurately we can advise.
03Do you guarantee your work?+
We stand behind work completed to the agreed scope and specification. The exact workmanship and product warranty terms depend on the system and materials used, and are confirmed in the written quotation.
04What materials do you use?+
We use fit-for-purpose, proven products from established supplier networks. We consider the site, exposure, required performance, manufacturer requirements and budget before specifying a system.
05Are your materials SABS approved?+
Where a product requires a relevant SABS standard or manufacturer certification, we specify suitable compliant products for the required application. Ask us to include product information with your quote.
06How long does a waterproofing job last?+
It depends on the existing substrate, the waterproofing system, preparation, drainage, movement and maintenance. We inspect the roof or surface first and explain the expected system performance before work begins.
07Can you repair a leaking roof?+
Yes. We assess the source of the leak rather than only treating the visible symptom. This can include flashings, roof sheets, joints, valleys, parapets, gutters, outlets or failed waterproofing.
08Do you install new roofs?+
Yes. We undertake roofing work including sheeting, roof structures, flashings, insulation, gutters and waterproofing details as a standalone scope or part of a broader build.
09Do you handle building projects from start to finish?+
Yes. Depending on the scope, we coordinate site establishment, foundations, concrete, masonry, structural interfaces, roofing, services coordination and final handover.
10Do you undertake civil engineering work?+
Yes. Our civil capability includes earthworks, platforms, roads, drainage, stormwater, retaining solutions, concrete works and site development.
11How long will my project take?+
Small maintenance work may take a day or two. Roofing, painting and waterproofing can take several days, while renovations, new buildings and civil packages vary by scope. Every formal quote includes a practical programme or timeline.
12Will you work while my business or home is occupied?+
Where practical, yes. We plan access, safety controls, dust and noise management, working zones and sequencing around occupied sites.
13Do I need approved plans before construction starts?+
Some building work requires approved plans and professional input. We can advise on buildability and work with your appointed architect, engineer or other professional team.
14Can you work with my architect or engineer?+
Absolutely. We coordinate closely with professional teams, work to issued drawings and specifications, raise technical queries early and maintain clear communication during delivery.
15Do you manage subcontractors?+
Yes. We coordinate approved specialist trades as required, while maintaining control over programme, quality, site safety and the interfaces between scopes.
16Which areas do you work in?+
Born Free Construction is based in the Western Cape and works across Cape Town, the Winelands, West Coast, Overberg and selected Garden Route or project-specific locations.
17How do payments work?+
Payment terms are set out clearly in the quotation or contract. For larger projects, payments are normally structured around agreed progress milestones and work completed.
